May is Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM). The month of May is Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM). BHSM was founded in 1927 by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to ensure that no one faces the risk of hearing loss from loud sounds and noises.
Each May, this annual event provides an opportunity to raise awareness about hearing and speech problems, and to encourage individuals to think about their own hearing.
